Andrew Scott, president and CEO of Operation Mobilization USA and author of 'Scatter,' to speak at Olivet Nazarene University

Bourbonnais, IL (10/23/2017) — Andrew Scott is an innovative missions thought leader, dedicated to helping people connect to their God-given purpose. On the evening of Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, he will share his mission and message at Olivet Nazarene University. The public is welcome to join the University community for what promises to be an inspiring presentation. There is no admission charge. Click here to register.

Sponsored by The McGraw School of Business at Olivet and Shine.FM, Scott will share a message that calls for a bold new era of missions. His vision has inspired a groundswell movement of thousands of believers utilizing their vocation in the global marketplace to see the gospel spread to the least-reached. He sees every Christian - engineer, baker, pastor or other - as God's global image bearer. Scott will also be a guest on Shine.FM during his visit to Olivet.

The author of the highly acclaimed Scatter: Go Therefore and Take Your Job with You from Moody Publishers, Scott is also the president and CEO of Operation Mobilization. According to Scott's research, 2.8 billion people in our world today live outside of access to the gospel. That figure was 1.7 billion just a few decades ago, and 57,000 more are being added to that number daily.

"A number of seismic shifts are taking place today, geo-politically and missiologically, which demand a new missions model for the future," said Scott. "In the absence of a radically new approach - one that completely eclipses the scale and effectiveness of everything that has come before it - billions will live and die without ever experiencing the life-giving message of Jesus."

"Olivet is delighted to host Andrew Scott," said Chris Perez, business professor. "Andrew has spent more than two decades in missions. He is known for his energetic presentation style and extraordinary stories that you simply cannot hear anywhere else. We expect this to be an unforgettable night."

Scott is also the visionary behind the rapidly-growing ScatterGlobal.com. Serving professionals, students and churches, ScatterGlobal.com is one initiative of Operation Mobilization dedicated to mobilizing Jesus followers from many professions. The goal is to help them intentionally pursue their vocations in the least-reached marketplaces of the world.

Since leaving his home of Northern Ireland at age 19, Scott's work has taken him to more than 75 countries. He is passionate about playing and watching soccer, as well as showing and breeding Staffordshire Bull Terriers. He and his wife, Sharon, recently celebrated 25 years of marriage and enjoy spending time with their two adult children.
