Ashley Sarver of Springfield to star in Olivet's stage production of "Almost, Maine"

2013 Oct 18

Springfield resident Ashley Sarver, a Junior at Olivet Nazarene University, will star as Hope in Olivet's fall theatre presentation of "Almost, Maine," a romantic comedy, described by The New York Times as a "whimsical approach to the joys and perils of romance." Jerry Cohagan, theatre director and professor, directs.

Almost is a remote, mythical town in northern Maine. Although it cannot be found on a map, "if you look up, you might catch a glimpse of it ... almost," said Jerry Cohagan, director and theatre arts professor. Set on a cold, clear, slightly surreal Friday night in the middle of winter, the play is comprised of nine short vignettes that explore the loves and losses of its residents.

Tickets are $12 for adults, and $6 for students and senior adults over 65. For more information or to reserve tickets for the shows, call 815-928-5791.
