Godfrey Resident Chelsea Hays Honored in Who's Who Among Students for 2013

Chelsea Hays of Godfrey has received national recognition as an outstanding campus leader for 2013 by the Who's Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges® program. She is the daughter of Tom and Nancy Hays.

Hays is one of a select group of 53 seniors from Olivet Nazarene University to accept this prestigious award. More than 2,842 schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia participated in nominating their students for this honor.

A multimedia studies with TV/video production concentration major, Hays received this honor for her achievements while at Olivet, including: dean's list; member of Lambda Pi Eta, Theta Beta chapter, national communication honor society (2011-2013); member of Heart for Missions and Fellowship of Christian Athletes; admissions ambassador for Olivet; president of Seventh Reel Film Club (2010-2011); volunteer at Steuben Elementary School, presenting NAIA Champions of Character traits; Freshman Connections mentor; athlete on Olivet Tigers women's varsity tennis team; recipient of NCCAA Scholar Team Award, CCAC All-Academic Team Award; Olivet Athlete of the Week; served on mission trip to Honduras (2012) and co-leader for mission trip to Ecuador (2013).

Olivet Nazarene University's campus nominating committee - made up of representatives from the faculty, administration and student body - selected and nominated [him/her] for this award. Criteria for this selection included grade point average, participation and leadership in school activities, community involvement and leadership ability.

For more than 76 years, Who's Who Among Students has annually honored outstanding student leaders from institutions of higher learning across the country. It is one of the most highly regarded and long-standing honors programs, respected by college faculties and administrations.
