Le Roy Resident Jenny Schoenwetter Honored in Who's Who Among Students for 2013

Jenny Schoenwetter of Le Roy has received national recognition as an outstanding campus leader for 2013 by the Who's Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges® program. She is the daughter of Kevin and Kathy Schoenwetter.

Schoenwetter is one of a select group of 53 seniors from Olivet Nazarene University to accept this prestigious award. More than 2,842 schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia participated in nominating their students for this honor.

A business administration with concentrations in management and not-for-profit management major, Schoenwetter received this honor for her achievements while at Olivet, including: dean's list every semester; featured student speaker and student ambassador at 2012 President's Dinner; president of Student Philanthropy Council; president of Going Green ecology club and volunteer with Kankakee River Valley clean-up effort; secretary of Sigma Delta Pi Spanish honor society; member of Sigma Beta Delta business honor society; member of LifeSupport and volunteer at Living Alternatives Pregnancy Resource Center; member of Heart for Missions; served on mission trip to Haiti (2011); studied abroad in Argentina (2011).

Olivet Nazarene University's campus nominating committee - made up of representatives from the faculty, administration and student body - selected and nominated [him/her] for this award. Criteria for this selection included grade point average, participation and leadership in school activities, community involvement and leadership ability.

For more than 76 years, Who's Who Among Students has annually honored outstanding student leaders from institutions of higher learning across the country. It is one of the most highly regarded and long-standing honors programs, respected by college faculties and administrations.
