Samantha Morey of Macomb, Michigan, competes as member of Olivet's award-winning Enactus team

Samantha Morey, a resident of Macomb, Michigan, is the scriptwriter and a presentation team member with Olivet Nazarene University's 2016-2017 Enactus presentation team. Morey is a 2017 graduate majoring in marketing at Olivet.

Olivet's 2016-2017 Enactus presentation team added to the history of success by competing in the U.S. National Exposition and achieving a second place finish in the opening round of competition for its division. Teams representing Enactus chapters from 105 other schools - out of 457 chapters at schools nationwide - qualified for and competed at nationals.

Adding to the honors for Olivet's Enactus is the chapter's ranking in the top 32 of 457 Enactus presentation teams in the nation, based on the team's performance at regional and national competitions during the 2016-2017 academic year. At the national competition, Olivet's team placed second in its division, just behind the team that ultimately finished third in the nation.

Olivet's Enactus chapter is the largest club on campus, reflecting the strength of degree programs offered by the School of Business. The emphasis on education, practical experience and service is a winning combination for providing "Education with a Christian purpose."

"I continue to be impressed by the performance of our students at this high level of competition," said Dr. Lynda Allen, professor in the School of Business and faculty sponsor for Olivet's Enactus chapter. "Throughout this academic year, our team of over 100 students completed 13 entrepreneurial projects, directly impacting thousands of lives. Students gain practical experience, and lives are changed through the work of our team."
