Susan Morrill chosen for Olivet's 2014 Homecoming Court

2014 Oct 30

Susan Morrill of Oak Lawn, Illinois, was part of the Queen's Court for the 60th Homecoming coronation ceremony at Olivet Nazarene University on October 29, 2014. Chosen by her peers for this honor, Morrill is a senior majoring in music ministry and a leader among the student body. She is the son/daughter of William and Lynda Morrill.

She has participated in several on-campus ministries at Olivet: D-Groups, Party With Jesus, Prayer Warriors, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Chrysalis Choir, Orpheus Choir, jazz combo, chapel band and class chapel. For the past two years, she has traveled as a music ambassador and with ministry teams to minister in local churches. Her life was forever changed in May 2014 during a two-week Missions in Action (MIA) trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo in Africa. After graduation, she will be co-leading the MIA trip back to Congo, as well as completing her supervised music ministry internship requirement.

Alana Steward, a senior accounting major from Overland Park, Kansas, was crowned as the 2014 Homecoming Queen during the ceremony.

Olivet's Homecoming Queen and members of her Court have been honored each year since 1955. The Queen is a senior woman chosen by the student body. She is a person of integrity; gives glory to God in her life; helps others feel loved and accepted; and expresses Olivet's academic, social, and spiritual ideals.
