Traverse City resident David Rice honored in Who's Who Among Students for 2014

David Rice of Traverse City has received national recognition as an outstanding campus leader for 2014 by the Who's Who Among Students in American Universities & CollegesA? program. He is the son of Richard and Jill Rice.

Rice is one of a select group of 57 seniors from Olivet Nazarene University to accept this prestigious award. More than 2,842 schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia participated in nominating their students for this honor.

A music ministry major, Rice received this honor for his achievements while at Olivet, including: dean’s list (fall 2010 through fall 2013); Hale-Wilder Vocal Music Scholarship recipient (2012); Walter B. Larsen Award for Academic Excellence recipient (2013); The Olivetians ministry team; served on mission trips to Kenya and Brazil.

Olivet Nazarene University's campus nominating committee a?" made up of representatives from the faculty, administration and student body a?" selected and nominated his for this award. Criteria for this selection included grade point average, participation and leadership in school activities, community involvement and leadership ability.
