2018 Student Laureates of The Lincoln Academy of Illinois, in the spirit of Lincoln, are honored for leadership and service in the pursuit of the betterment of humanity and for overall excellence in curricular and extracurricular activities.

In 1997, the American Advertising Federation (AAF) began the Most Promising Multicultural Student program (MPMS) to connect the advertising industry with the nation's top multicultural college students.

The Lincoln Academy of Illinois Abraham Lincoln Civic Engagement Award recognizes an Olivet student as a student laureate, earning him/her induction into the academy.

The mission of Olivet's Honors Program is to encourage and nurture academically gifted students, helping them to believe in their possibilities, preparing them to become the Christian scholars and servant leaders they were meant to be.

The Robert M. Milner Award is named for a Nazarene minister who is father and grandfather to several Olivet alumni and goes to a male student who exemplifies the highest standard of excellence in character, scholarship achievement and contribution to extracurricular activities.

The Maggie Sloan Crawford Award is named for Olivet's first graduate and goes to a female student who exemplifies the highest standard of excellence in character, scholarship achievement and contribution to extracurricular activities.

Each year, Olivet honors one student employee for his/her reliability, quality of work, initiative, professionalism and uniqueness of contribution to his/her department or office.

The Sylvanus Carter Homiletics Award was established by Dr. and Mrs. Stephen Carter in honor of Stephen's father, Rev. Sylvanus Carter. Three finalists are chosen to receive scholarships, and one of those is designated as recipient of the award.

Three Olivet students are chosen to receive the 2014 Elbert Pence and Fanny Boyce Undergraduate Summer Research Experience Grant, funded by alumni and friends of Olivet. Students are paired with faculty members in order to conduct research projects. At the end of 10 weeks, students are required to write a paper, present what they discovered, and create a poster which will be displayed during Homecoming week in fall 2014.
