Olivet Nazarene University

The Sylvanus Carter Homiletics Award was established by Dr. and Mrs. Stephen Carter in honor of Stephen's father, Rev. Sylvanus Carter. Each participant in the competition for this award researches, writes, submits and delivers the manuscript of a sermon he/she has prepared.

Olivet's Homecoming Queen and members of her court have been honored each year since 1955.

Each participant in the Sylvanus Carter Homiletics Award competition researches, writes and submits the manuscript of a sermon that he/she has prepared. Selected participants deliver their sermons to an audience. Each sermon is rated on exegesis of scripture, focus and relevance for the audience who will hear it, as well as the participant's delivery of it. Three finalists are chosen to receive scholarships, and one of those is designated as recipient of the award.

This annual national SHRM award competition centers on developing effective solutions to business problems and is open to human resource (HR) students.

This award celebrates the value and contribution of Olivet Nazarene University students who worked in the 1,257 student jobs on campus during the 2016-2017 academic year.

Olivet Nazarene University's Reed Leadership Essay Contest is an annual competition for sophomores only that occurs in conjunction with the Reed Institute for the Advancement of Leadership's Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Mid-Central U.S.A. Regional Collegiate Programming Contest (MCPC) is a division of the Association for Computing Machinery's (ACM) annual International Collegiate Programming Contest. In 2015, the field of competition included 155 teams.

Olivet students participated in the 2013 William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition -- one of the most prestigious university-level mathematics exams in the world.

This award celebrates the value and contribution of Olivet Nazarene University students who worked in the 1,280 student jobs on campus during the 2015-2016 academic year. Nominations for this award came from students, staff and faculty members to recognize nominees for attributes, expectations, leadership/style and impact to their department or office.
